For my cold porcelain mixture, I use:
40% Nicron Flex
40% Mama Dora
20% Nicron Soft (which adds a little white into the mix so the end result isn't translucent)
Watch the live that Deborah Green did with us on attaching flowers to cake as she also discusses using cold porcelain and the benefits of using it over gumpaste or flower paste!
The same techniques to create flowers can be used for both cold porcelain AND gumpaste or flower paste!
Use non-toxic glue (i.e. Elmer's school glue) for attaching cold porcelain pieces together instead of water or edible glue
Use corn starch as your medium to keep cold porcelain from sticking to your surfaces
Placing your cold porcelain creations in front of a fan will speed up drying time tremendously!

Piping a Big, Beautiful, Round Rose
To make a high, large rose like this one, it's best to use a medium that won't collapse under the weight of the rose, which is why I suggest using either chantyflex cream, buttercream glaze, or bean paste.
